I could not hack threw The Wheel of Time series when the women got all bitchy and the story just kept repeating itself.
But a fun, fast, stock fantasy series is the Dragonlance trilogy. There is a bajillion spin-offs of Dragonlance...DO NOT read those.

I couldn't read the Wheel of Time series. An ex boyfriend of mine adored them, I read the first 3 and got so sick of them... BUT, I may have been a biased reader... and I am seriously going to sit down and list out a bunch more books when I get home tonight!!!

Very well, I withdraw my Robert Jordan suggestion and replace it with Robin Hobb. Go for the "Farseers Trilogy" (assassins/telepathy) or "The Liveship Traders" (pirates! also sea snerpents and dragnons Aie!).

Myr did you enjoy the 11th book of wheel of time. Just that I've read all the others and feel the need to finish off the series, but if it is like the 10th book I don't know if I can do it.

To be honest by the time I'd read that far into the series I knew which parts interested me... I enjoyed the 11th book but I may have speed read those parts which I found less entertaining.

Am I the only one who likes the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer? Well, those are teen books, but she also did a sci-fi book called The Host. It's been dubbed the sci-fi book for people who don't like sci-fi. Well, I loved it, and it made me cry at the end (yes, I'm a pansy). So I definitely recommend that book, as well as the Twilight series (humans, vampires, werewolves) and Twilight is coming to Theatres in November (in the states). How about HARRY POTTER? >.> Is that really just me as well? I mean, I know these are kids books (some of them) slash teen books... but honestly... Oh, and there's a book of short stories that are famous in the wizarding world brought to us by Hermione with a commentary by Albus Dumbledore lol, so basically she's capitalizing on Harry Potter still without writing another book in the series... But might be a good read anyway I loved the Host!!!! <3 I just finished reading it recently and was VERY happy with every page of that book. I was very well done and well written!!!! Loved every moment of it!!! <3 As for the Twilight books...i have only read i first one (Twilight), but i own all four of them And intend to read them when i get the chance ( i have MANY other books to read and too little time to do it ) As for the Harry Potter books...yes they were good, when i read them...but now i am just annoyed....and probably wont read them again.... they shoukdl really get on with it and release the 6th movie already >.> I just remembered a book i read, that was written very poetically and different from the regular paragraphs that you see in normal books. It was a book that my mom was considering for her library, about a girl who was struggling with a drug problem, it was all about her life before and after the drugs, it was very interesting but too mature for the kids in my mom's school, so it's a teen book. The book is called Crank....but i cant remember that author atm

Of course I have read ALL of the Harry Potter books abby, and so has Jay infact. My friend has read the twilight series and is trying to get me to read them, I just haven't gotten to it yet. I have another friend who is going to let us read his Appleseed Magas, kinda excited about that.

Resurrecting this thread cause I have something short and entertaining that I feel I should share. Vile put me on to this and thought I'd share it with anyone that didn't know about it. It is a web comic that is beautifully drawn and contains the twisted humour I love. It is called Looking for Group and is based on mmorpgs. Enjoy.
