Well I got my hands on a beta key only to discover that as of December I will no longer be able to play Dofus. Despite their assurances that if you can run Dofus 1.x you will be able to run Dofus 2.0 Mac powerPC users will not be able to run Dofus 2.0. I've logged a ticket but do not expect much. I haven't given up hope completely, still possible that I can get my hands on a zip version that I can make run, but not feeling confident at this point.

Is it due to the installer?

Or the memory leak? Unsure of the relevance to Mac powerPC, as I'm not familiar with macs....but if a zipped version is what you need.. We could zip up our files, and send them to you via MSN messenger or similar. Could that work? Also unsure if you've seen this. They have Mac and Linux links. www.impsvillage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=95270

Is this due to Dofus requirements on the OS, Dofus requirements on the hardware, or Adobe AIR requirements?

It appears that it may be due to the installer, but I really don't know. There is the possibility of running adobe air on ppc macs from what I'm seeing.
All I really know is that when the mac download link was posted on forum Wish stated that it was not compatible with ppc. You can successfully load it and get icon, but it will have a won't work sign on the program in the application file and state the architecture won't support this program.
I've searched around for some workarounds, but so far haven't found any that I'm capable of testing (one suggestion was adobe air sdk and using command line and windows version). As Sandy said there is the possibility that it could be made to work with a zip file. I've been tempted to run ubuntu on my second partition, might eventually do that and see if I can get linux version to run.
Will keep you guys posted as to my progress/failures.
Edit: So poking around in the different packages I come to a file called uplauncher.app that seems to be the problem. Although I really don't know what I'm looking for in here. If I open any of the unix executables I get something like this:
Last login: Thu Nov 5 19:10:01 on ttys000 me-powerbook-g4-42:~ me$ /Applications/DofusOnline\ 03-41-15.app/Contents/MacOS/Launcher ; exit; -bash: /Applications/DofusOnline 03-41-15.app/Contents/MacOS/Launcher: Bad CPU type in executable logout
[Process completed]
In this example this is the first launcher file I encountered, there are others such as uplauncher buried further down that return the same Bad CPU type.
Don't know if this will help anyone to have a better idea what is going on.

Try posting in Talk Geek to Me - IV. Googling '"bad CPU type error" + powerbook'. I'd help myself, but I really don't know shit about macs. Just google around - teh internetz shall provide your answer.

Uplauncher is a POS! They simply don't know Mac at Ankama. Zip version ftw.

I'm going to try and load it up on my wifes comp and make a zip file of the contents. I know this will mean that every time they do a little update I'll have to repeat, but I'll see if I can make the game itself work.
If it does I'll try and figure out a host I can use to make it accessible to others in guild who need it. If there is no zip file provided when 2.0 officially launches I'll try to update it asap.

I think he is referring to current 1.29 version of dofus running slow and it being better on intel mac. My problem is solved so I'm not super worried, but hope to try and make a zip version this weekend for others that aren't as lucky.

FYI I've created a KWSN guild on beta server. So far just me Cotton and Chewy, but anyone is welcome. Don't know how much I'll be on as it is very laggy for me on the old toshiba I've got up and running.

Ok so I downloaded 2.0 on my wifes intel mac and then moved it over to my old ppc. In the contents of the main uploader program (which won't open) there is a dofus application which contains all the swf files. You can't run it through flash, but the application itself does run on ppc. Now figuring out if I can multilog with the application or if I have to make a duplicate...seems you need a duplicate, but I'll play with it more. One client runs about the same as 1.29 as far as speed on my comp, maybe a bit slower.
